How old do I have to be until I can trade?

There are tons of fantastic explication about the stock market. A lot of great people are making excellent videos about companies and stocks. But can we buy shares at any age? Or should we be 18 or even 21 to trade? I saw this question on many forums, so┬áhere’s the answer.

Unfortunately, you can’t buy stocks at any age, and there is a minimum age requirement. Globally it depends on the law in your country. In the UK or Australia, you will have to be 18 to open your account and start buying stock for yourself. In the US it depends on state law, in some state you have to be 18, and in others, you have to be 21.

What can I do if I want to trade but I’m not 18?

So maybe the answers to the question ‘how old do I have to be until I can trade‘ disappointed you, but it doesn’t say that there is nothing you can do about. Someplace can make for us a particular trading account will, but they will give a full supervision to your parent, so they will be able to check everything you will do. Not cool.

Another option is to ask your parent to open an account for you with there names, so you will buy stocks form they account. And then, when you will be 18, you will easily change the named account to your account.

I think that it is crucial to start buying stocks when you are young because the earlier you start, the more profit you will be able to make over years. But before you start buying shares, you have to understand the market and do your research about the company you want to buy.
