How old do I have to be until I can trade?

There are a tons of amazing explication about the stock market. A lot a great people are making awesome videos about company and about stocks. But can we buy shares at any age? Or should we be 18 or even 21 to trade? I saw this question in many forum, so┬áhere’s the answer.

Unfortunately you can’t buy stocks at any age, there is a minimum age requirement. Globally it depends on the law in your country. In the UK or in Australia you will have to be 18 to open your own account and start buying stock for yourself. In the US it is┬ádepending on state law, in some state you have to be 18, and in others you have to be 21.

What can I do if I want to trade but I’m not 18?

So maybe the answers of the question ‘how old do I have to be until I can trade‘ disappointed you, but it doesn’t say that there is nothing you can do about. Some place can make for up a special trading account will, but they will give a full supervision to your parent, so they will be able to check everything you will do. Not cool.

Another option is to ask your parent to open an account for you with there names, so you will buy stocks form they account. And them, when you will be 18, you they will easily change the name account to your account.

I think that it is important to start buying stocks when you are young, because the earlier you start the more profit you will be able to make over years. But before you start buying stocks, you have to understand the market and do your research about the company you want to buy.
